Overview

#PRIDE is in Riverside! Join us for a day of celebration, elevation, and reflection. You will enjoy performances by unique entertainers, dance to the beat of up-and-coming LGBTQIA+ performers, experience queer art displays, and enjoy the company of LGBTQIA+ oriented and friendly organizations and companies.

This is a FREE event. Hours are as follows:

  • Door opens at 12 PM, after 7 PM 18+ only
  • Expo floor: 12 – 7 PM
  • Youth Zone: 12- 6 PM (17 and under by Rainbow Pride Youth Alliance)
  • Workshops: 12 – 7 PM
  • Main Stage: 2 – 10 PM

Riverside LGBTQ+ Pride is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity, 100% volunteer-powered. We cannot succeed without our dedicated volunteers and the community's support.

Mission

The mission of the festival will be to give our communities a safe and fully inclusive place to celebrate their true selves, educate about LGBTQ+ issues and history, commemorate those who came before us and who have sacrificed for progress, and illuminate our current community to increase visibility and shine a light on those making change.

Location

The festival will be at the Riverside Convention Center. We have both the outdoor plaza space, and the entire Upper Concourse.

1:30pm – Reproductive Justice 101 w/ Planned Parenthood

Presented by: Planned Parenthood Action Fund of the Pacific Southwest

Description: Our expert speakers and facilitators will guide you through a thought-provoking discussion on the historical context of reproductive justice, including the impact of systemic inequalities on marginalized communities. Gain a deeper understanding of the complexities surrounding reproductive rights and how they intersect with race, gender, socioeconomic status, and more. You'll learn about the challenges faced by various communities and the importance of advocating for comprehensive reproductive rights for all. We'll also explore strategies for engaging in meaningful activism and supporting inclusive policies that respect individual autonomy. This workshop is designed to empower you with knowledge and resources to become advocates for reproductive justice.

3:15pm – Vote With Pride – LGBTQ+ Representation in Politics

Presented by: Equality California
Speakers: Congressman Mark Takano, Councilmember Erin Edwards, Equality California Advisory Board Member Jesse Melgar, Assemblymember Dr. Corey Jackson

Description: Step into the world of progressive politics and learn how you can become an LGBTQ+ rights advocate. Join us as we bring together influential leaders from the LGBTQ community who have shattered barriers and become trailblazers in the fight for equality. Discover how they are fighting for LGBTQ+ rights at all levels of government. This panel promises to be a powerful and insightful discussion on the importance of LGBTQ representation in shaping a more diverse, accepting, and equitable political landscape and how you can put power behind your voice.

4:30pm – Celebrating Diversity & Wellness: Queer & Trans BIPOC Health

Speakers: Gabe Maldonado – TruEvolution, Dr. Sushant Bandarpalle – St. John’s Community Health, Aiyana Davison – Certified Nurse Midwife,  Renae Punzalan – Trans Health and Wellness Center

Description: Our panelists will share their insights, personal experiences, and professional expertise on the intersectionality of gender identity, sexual orientation, and racial identity, exploring the multifaceted aspects of health that impact the lives of queer and trans BIPOC individuals. From navigating healthcare disparities and system barriers to exploring the unique mental health challenges experienced by queer and trans BIPOC individuals,  our discussion will shed light on the importance of holistic well-being within this vibrant and diverse community.

5:30pm – Know Your Rights Panel

Speakers: Jessica Carmona – Legal Aid At Work, Amanda Goad – ACLU of SoCal
Presented by: ACLU of SoCal and Legal Aid At Work
Description: In an effort to promote awareness and empower the LGBTQ+ community, our “Know Your Rights” panel aims to shed light on the current state of legal protections, particularly in the wake of the recent Supreme Court ruling in the 303 Creative case out of Colorado. This informative session aims to equip attendees with the knowledge and tools necessary to understand their rights and options if they encounter discrimination at work, at school, in a business establishment, and so forth.

Accessibility

The venue is ADA accessible. There will be reserved seating area in front of stage for those who need it. Spoken content on stage will have ASL interpreters. We will also have a deaf/hard-of-hearing assistance table.
